CLOCK TOWER LAUNCH WEEKEND

50% sold – final nine uniquely converted apartments and penthouse now available
The National Launch of The Clock Tower, York took place this weekend with a lovely event featuring some of the local companies that make the city so special. Outside in the courtyard, with the Terry’s Tower as a backdrop, we had Chocolate & Co, a not for profit charity enterprise launched during lock down by Linda Barrie and her daughter Mazza. As well as creating the most incredible hot chocolate drinks from solid chocolate discs they are helping those on the margins of society. They believe work gives a sense of purpose and offer training and opportunity to people struggling with addiction or with a history of offending and provide placements and wider support to help people find their way. Their inspiring work is already having positive results and their bright blue wagon is available to hire for all sorts of events. Learn more about them here: www.chocolateandco.org

Delicious individual platters of tapas were provided by The Good Food Shop on nearby Bishopthorpe Road were laid out in the Tower’s large lobby.

This independent deli and store first opened back in 1987 and is filled with an abundance of locally baked breads, cheese, charcuterie, fresh salads, cakes, pies and tarts and shelves full of provisions from Spain, Mexico and Italy.

In November 2020, local couple Dan and Ruth quit their jobs and took over the deli and as well as providing hampers of goodies and large catering platters they create the most amazing sandwiches and salads.

They know the Terry’s site well as their son attends the local school and they regularly stop off at the play park.

Interesting beers from the award-winning Brew York craft brewery provided the tipple for the evening. With flavours ranging from Brew York–E an appropriate Chocolate Milk Stout to Juice Forsyth a fruity IPA – the beer comes in beautifully designed cans. Brew York was founded by Wayne Smith and Lee Grabham in 2016, friends with an ambition to open a city centre brew house which was welcoming and inviting and where people could enjoy the beer they made while sat next to the tanks they were brewed in. The Brew House is tucked away in the bustling area of Walmgate and well worth a visit. Find out more about them here: www.brewyork.co.uk
