BOWLAND HOUSE LAUNCH WEEKEND

Come and visit our latest show home in the historic city of Lancaster

Our in-house interiors team is just putting the finishing touches to a two-bedroom apartment at Bowland House on our Moor Park development on Quernmore Road and we are throwing open the doors on Saturday November 17.

The two-bedroom show apartment has an en-suite to the master bedroom, high specification kitchen, complete with integrated fridge and freezer and washer/dryer and a luxurious main bathroom.

“In addition, they are in the most beautiful location on edge of the Bowland Fells yet five minutes from the city centre.”

Like all the apartments at Bowland House it comes with its own private outside space and allocated parking.

This lovely building of solid stone and contrasting render contains just 22 well planned and spacious apartments – half of which have already been reserved off plan.

Group sales manager Gavin Pearce, said: “We are very excited to be showcasing Bowland House as we know buyers will be impressed with both the specification and the space. They offer a contemporary, light filled alternative to a traditional city terrace.

To mark the opening and to celebrate the development’s lovely neighbours, visitors on Saturday will be able to sample wonderful blonde beer from the nearby Lancaster Brewery. Prices at Bowland House start from £159,950.

Cedar House reborn

CEDAR HOUSE HAS BEEN REBORN

Our ambitious transformation of Cedar House at Woodbridge in Suffolk is now complete

The property is now a spacious five bedroom family home with handsome double bay frontage and contemporary bi-fold doors at the rear – and it looks stunning.

The building has been a landmark in Woodbridge for centuries and while originally built as a house it had suffered insensitive additions over the years and had latterly been used as office accommodation.

Our designs to give it new life were radical and involved demolishing the Victorian additions, turning the house back to front to make the most of the lovely plot and building a second match new bay window to give the house a ‘face.’

Teams of craftsmen from stone masons to carpenters to electricians and roofers worked on the project for months supervised by site managers Curtis Mighall and Alan Venables.

It is a proud moment for the whole company to see Cedar House complete and ready to take pride of place in Woodbridge for another couple of hundred years.

Please take a look at the breathtaking aerial footage of Cedar House today by clicking on the video on the left.

DEAL COMPLETES FOR SIEMENS

We’re completing our agreement with our partners, Siemens, Bruntwood and Manchester City Council.

Work can now start in earnest on 48 contemporary 4 and 5 bedroom family houses and a new apartment block. The homes are part of wider redevelopment of the nine acre site which will also incorporate new offices aimed at medical and technical businesses and improved landscaping. The scheme accessed from Nell Lane in West Didsbury will sit alongside the existing Sir William Siemens House and the new £65m Spire Manchester Hospital.

PJ Livesey director Craig Lynch said: “This is an important milestone for the partnership and we are excited about starting work to deliver a wide range of properties. These will be high quality family homes sitting alongside a distinctive new apartment building and we anticipate the first completions by the end of this year.”

Manchester City Council leader Sir Richard Leese said: “The development will bring new jobs in a strategically important location close to the motorway and only 10 minutes from Manchester Airport. This is welcome news and will contribute to the city’s strategies by creating employment opportunities which Manchester people will be able to access.”

CONVERSION OF CEDAR HOUSE

Exceptional late 18th and early 19th century property in Woodbridge

Cedar House

P J Livesey are used to creating unique properties but even by our standards Cedar House Woodbridge is very special

We have taken this landmark property, turned it back to front, kept all the best bits and created a stunning home of remarkable space and character. The project has employed all our skills in design and construction with teams of craftsmen working on site and at our specialist workshops in Manchester.

The transformation is coming together and we are delighted to announce that Cedar House has now launched for sale.

Cedar House woodbridge

Built as a private mansion between the late 18th and early 19th centuries the property has had an interesting history and it is said that Oliver Cromwell’s head was once stored in its large chimney! The macabre relic has since been formally re-buried at Sydney Sussex College, Cambridge – Cromwell’s alma mater.

The chimney remains, together with the distinctive double pitch roof and the original gable wall exposed and restored following the demolition of a later Victorian addition.

Original sash windows on the first floor have been removed and refurbished by hand in our workshop. An existing bay window, on what was the rear of the house, has been restored and a second symmetrical bay created to balance the façade and create a handsome new frontage.

The change is dramatic and when the works are complete early next year we think we will have created one of the finest homes available in the area.

Cedar House stands in its own grounds off a private tree-lined driveway just five minutes from the centre of Woodbridge and is priced at £1.45m.

LIGHTS TURN ON AT MOOR PARK

The first residents have now moved in to Moor Park, Lancaster

The first residents have now moved in to Moor Park – a development of traditional stone built houses on the edge of the beautiful Bowland Fells in Lancashire.

It’s a rewarding moment for the whole team both on site and at HQ seeing houses that we have designed and built with care and passion become homes. We like seeing the lights go on.

Other properties will soon follow with more people moving in before the end of the year.

Moor Park offers homes from three-bedroom mews terraces to large five-bedroom family homes and Help to Buy is available on every plot.

The Government scheme is a great assistance, with buyers able to make the move to this idyllic location with only a 5% deposit.

Independent financial consultant Jennifer Ridgeon from Daniels Associates, said: “Help To Buy is a really effective initiative to help get people into a new home. “You do not need to be a first-time buyer and you do not need to have sold your house before applying

“It is unlocking the next home for lots of people and is also helping people make the move from rental to ownership.”

If you would like to learn more about Help To Buy please speak to one of the team at Moor Park on: 0800 151 0960

Spacious three-bedroom mews homes with allocated parking start from just £199,950 – and until the end of October they come with floor coverings throughout and wardrobes fitted to the master bedroom.

Transformation at Woodbridge

TRANSFORMATION FOR HERITAGE PROPERRTY CEDAR HOUSE

We are currently transforming a heritage property in Woodbridge by turning it back to front

The well-known landmark, Cedar House, has literally been reversed with the original porched frontage that was facing Pytches Road now facing the opposite way! The new front entrance is approached along a private tree-lined drive called The Grove.

The property, most recently used to house local charities, was built as a private mansion between the late 18th and early 19th centuries and has been added to and extended over the years, including a three storey Victorian addition. It boasts a wealth of original Georgian features including heavy moldings and window blind boxes which have all been retained.

The double pitch roof with its distinctive chimney has been retained, the original gable exposed and restored following the demolition of the Victorian addition and original sash windows on the first floor have been refurbished by hand at the company’s workshops.

An existing bay window, on what was the rear of the house, has been restored and a second symmetrical bay created by craftsmen to balance the façade and create a handsome frontage.

Inside, the original staircase now leads up to five bedrooms, two of them en-suite. The master suite spans the entire back of the property, with a spacious luxury en-suite shower room and separate dressing area.

We believe it is now one of the premier properties in Woodbridge both in terms of space and specification and its location, being just five minutes from the centre of this vibrant historic market town. Cedar House is priced at £1.45m.

Also at The Cedars is the old coach house which has been restored to create a unique three-bedroom property and seven individually designed grand detached family houses have been built in large plots on the 3.4 acre.
